Everything you have heard is true. It's an amazing experience. Unbelievable food, presentation, service and dishes. I have been fortunate to dine here twice. It's definitely a bucket list thing to do. I would think carefully about the wine pair. That was the only disappointing part. Many of the wines were good, but I didn't love the pairs for all courses. The wine pair was $350. I think maybe having the Som suggest and white and red for the meal. They will ask you for a price range. On the second visit we had 6 people and had a few sparklings and two bottles and one dessert wine. I think it was just as good as ordering the extra wine pair and less money. Good luck getting a reservation. Dress wine country chic, skip the jeans. Don't go for cocktails pre dinner, you want to have your wits about you.

Top notch service! Polite, professional and knowledgeable. They make their job appear effortless, where in fact requires a lot of coordination and preparation. The food was delicious. Although, I did not love every dish (lamb was not my favorite), I quite enjoyed the presentation of each course. The chocolates were really good too!!

The food was absolutely delicious, we had multiple courses (each unique in their own way) with wine pairings, which only enhanced the flavors of each dish. Some of the members in our party who didn't drink alcohol opted for a non-alcoholic beverage pairing, which were equally as delightful. The service was beyond amazing, which doesn't surprise me, they were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our entire meal. The ambiance was intimate and elegant, just what we were hoping for as we celebrated my brother's birthday. If you're looking for an unparalleled experience, I recommend trying this place at least once, just make sure to make a reservation far in advanced!

The French Laundry, the famous 3 Michelin Star restaurant that Anthony Bourdain called, "THE BEST RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD, PERIOD." After years of trying to score a reservation at The French Laundry, I finally had the opportunity of a lifetime to dine here a few months ago. Thomas Keller is the mastermind chef behind the restaurant, and he acted as the food consultant in the Disney Pixar film " Ratatouille". I remember watching the movie bonus features as a kid where they featured The French Laundry and I dreamt of one day being able to dine there. It was the best meal of my life! Our reservation was for 8pm, and for three hours we were served the most creative, delectable and unique food. It was a total of 12 courses, which included caviar, Nova Scotia lobster, Yellowfin Tuna, Wagyu, Black Truffle fondue, Pekin Duck and a never-ending bevy of desserts. My absolute favorite dish of the evening was the "Oyster and Pearls" which was "Sabayon" of Pearl Tapioca with Island Creek Oysters and Regiis Ova Caviar. It was unlike anything I've ever tasted! It was incredibly scrumptious and triumphant! We were assigned a wine sommelier for the evening, and he provided us with excellent wine recommendations throughout our meal that paired perfectly with our courses. The French Laundry is truly a dining experience. I got to taste food that I would never have thought to combine, and it was all appetizing. Their chefs are masters at their craft. Service was excellent, the staff was so fast and efficient in serving us each course. It's almost as if the service was choreographed. After our wonderful meal, we were given a tour of their kitchen and got to meet the chefs that evening. The French Laundry is easily the best meal of my entire life. I'd have to agree with Anthony Bourdain that this is the best restaurant in the world, period.

Attention. To. Detail. Over the past couple of years I've heard my wife talk about wanting to go to The French Laundry, so this year I surprised her with a very early birthday surprise up in Napa! After coordinating with two other couples and booking reservations, I got an email asking for any special occasions or dietary restrictions. I informed them of the birthday celebration and the fact that we had someone who was gluten free. When we got there they knew our party and wished my wife a happy birthday and brought us to our seats. When we looked at the menu we all noticed that they printed "Happy Birthday (wife's name)" on the top of the menu, which we got to keep after the dinner. A few at our table got the wine pairings which are tailored to how much you'd like to spend and the sommelier did not miss. Each meal was an experience and at one point someone in our party was obsessed with how good the asparagus tasted. They also substituted every gluten item for our party member that was gluten free so they got to enjoy every course, which was a worry in the back of my mind that was put to ease. At the end they invited us down to the kitchen and we got to (briefly) see the chefs at work. Then at the end, each couple got their own menu, wine list of the pairings we had and some goodies for a late night or morning snack. My wife got her own happy birthday chocolate bar from Thomas Keller as well! This was all of our first times at The French Laundry and I don't believe it will be our last either. Amazing experience with great friends and we will be back!

Did my second visit to French Laundry yesterday. Of course, it was spectacular and memorable (as it should be, hehe). From the moment we walked onto the property, and onto every detail, we felt spoiled and so attended to. The night was magical, the vibe was elegant and we loved every bite of it!! The servers were full of charm and character, and we had the perfect night with our group of 6! So many delicious tastes - a photo of our menu for reference. And of course, loved popping into the kitchen at the end of the night.

The French Laundry is famed for its exceptionally executed courses, a privileged fine-dining experience, and obtaining three Michelin stars with plenty of praise. I had the pleasure of dining here with my family for a special occasion. Diners from all over the world are drawn to this refined yet quaint fine-dining establishment. They're prideful in their cooking and accomplishments--boasting a filling nine-course three-hour dining experience. The building is reminiscent of a cottage while the interior is dim, romantic, and cozy. I will say that we were helped by multiple people everyone was cordial, knowledgeable, and attentive to all of our needs. As each glass or plate became empty, they were there to take care of it which was appreciated. Our family felt welcomed and accommodated for our duration. The menu rotates daily with a non-vegetarian or vegetarian option available with supplements at an additional cost. Due to my dietary restrictions, The French Laundry was more than obliging--crafting different courses to enjoy and make my meal more well-rounded. I chose the Chef's Tasting Menu. Some dishes completely blew me away and I had to savor each bite--Oysters and Pearls and Hudson Valley Pekin Duck Pressè to name some. Unfortunately, other courses left me yearning for more. Maybe because I expected to be blown away by the Michelin stars and namesake, but I wasn't. I will say each dish was carefully executed, and well plated, and the freshness and flavors shined in different ways. The French Laundry has been recognized for being cutting edge, utilizing their farm-to-table garden across the road, sustainable ingredients, and combining California cooking with French techniques. This is a bucket list restaurant for many, and quite the splurge. If you can afford it, I'd say give them a chance at least once in your lifetime. Reservations are required and must be booked ahead. Parking can be found around the restaurant with it location off Washington Street in Yountville.

If you have the funds, you should definitely try eating here at least once. My party of 4 got seated as soon we arrived which was 5 minutes early to our reservation. They took our coats and showed us to our table upstairs. It is quite dark which sets the tone for a romantic meal. The lights would change intensity slightly throughout the night as well as the temperature. Not sure if that was supposed to happen. The real candle and small arrangement of flowers as a center piece was an elegant touch. Three hours to eat 15 courses of food...I needed some dishes packed up! I was full by the fifth dish, but of course I stuffed myself subsequently. My favorite dishes were the Stonington Maine Sea Scallop Poele, Salad of Crispy Garden Cabbage, Oysters and Pearls, Crepe Suzette and the macarons. Yes, try the supplemental options and share with your partner since the reservations will be hard to make again. I asked for an extra pot of hot water to go along with my hojicha and it tasted great. The teapots were so cute. Although not all of the courses were mind-blowing, none of them were dishes I would be able to make myself. I noticed some waiters would be more careful when placing our plates at the same time as the other waiter, whereas others wouldn't pause for their counterpart. One waitress didn't even realize we were 3 courses ahead of what silverware she was bringing out until we told her. Nevertheless, service was friendly but not overly attentive. The plates themselves tied the presentation of the food together. It was cool to be brought back to the kitchen and take pictures at the end of dinner. I really enjoyed how our menus were signed by the chef with amazing penmanship and how it came in a nice folder.
